The basis of intersectionality comes from the ability to identify with multiple groups. Power and oppression develop from the identities of race, gender, sexual orientation, and class. In today's culture, it is important to recognize that people belong to multiple groups, each with their own privileges and setbacks. Being in human resources, it is imperative to make sure the company you work for represents a full spectrum of people with diverse intersectional backgrounds.
